Minor Changes to Physical Model

  • Minor changes in the physical model (from OBM) will result in the reset of the various parts in superstructure and substructure of the analytical model.
    • Any change other than major change is considered as minor change. For superstructure, typical minor changes include change of span length, beam spacing, beam sizes, etc. For substructure, typical minor changes include change of dimensions of bent cap, column and footing, locations of bent column and footing, et al.
    • The results of minor changes
      • If the input is entered as absolute value (in terms of ft, et al.)
        • The absolute will be retained if the load or reinforcement fits in the limits of the beam
        • The absolute value falling outside of the beam limit will be deleted
      • If the input is entered as relative value (such as 0.50L)
        • Relative value will be retained (its absolute value may change if the span length changes, accordingly)
      • Analysis/Design results will be reset
